National Career Service (NCS) Project Ministry of Labour & Employment - Directorate General of Employment National Career Service (NCS) Project is a Mission Mode Project for transformation of the National Employment Service to provide a variety of employment related services like career counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development courses, apprenticeship, internships etc.

NCS is a one-stop solution that provides a wide array of employment and career related services to the citizens of India. It works towards bridging the gap between candidates and employers; candidates seeking training and career guidance and agencies providing training and career counseling.

Latest update: During FY 2025-26, 96.27 lakh jobseekers and 15.33 lakh employers registered on the NCS Portal, while 4.24 crore vacancies were mobilised as of 31 March 2026. Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025 Ministry of Rural Development - Department of Rural Development Statutory rural employment framework guaranteeing 125 days of wage employment per eligible rural household, with work to be provided within 15 days of demand and unemployment allowance where applicable.

Latest update: Implemented nationwide from 1 July 2026, replacing MGNREGA; the 2026-27 Status: Active - Current statutory rural wage-employment framework. Sources: Official portal 3. Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) Ministry of Rural Development - Department of Rural Development Organises rural women into SHGs and supports sustainable self-employment, enterprise development, credit access, skills and diversified livelihoods. Latest update: By May 2026, women's participation reached 10 crore across 91.75 lakh SHGs; cumulative loan disbursement reached about Rs. 1.2 lakh crore. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) Ministry of Rural Development - DAY- NRLM Placement-linked skill-development programme for rural poor youth, aligned to formal wage employment. Latest update: Government reported 17.50 lakh candidates trained and 11.48 lakh placed up to June 2025. Status: Active - Ongoing centrally sponsored skilling component of DAY-NRLM. Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) Ministry of Rural Development; implemented with sponsor banks Bank-led, MoRD-supported institutes providing free entrepreneurship and skill training to rural youth for self- employment and livelihood creation. Latest update: Up to June 2025, 56.69 lakh candidates had been trained and 40.99 lakh had been settled in self/wage employment. PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs Provides collateral-free working-capital loans, digital-transaction incentives and social-security linkages to urban street vendors. Latest update: The restructured scheme has been extended to 31 March 2030 with an outlay of Rs. 7,332 crore and a target of 1.15 crore beneficiaries, including 50 lakh new beneficiaries. Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises; KVIC is the national nodal agency Credit-linked subsidy programme supporting new non-farm micro-enterprises and self-employment in rural and urban areas. Latest update: For FY 2021-22 to FY 2026-27, 4,03,706 units had received margin-money subsidy and estimated employment reached 36,33,354 as of 8 June 2026. PM Vishwakarma Scheme Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises End-to-end support for artisans and craftspeople in 18 trades through recognition, skills, toolkit incentives, concessional credit, digital incentives and marketing support. Latest update: As of 30 June 2026, 30 lakh registrations were recorded, 24.20 lakh beneficiaries had completed basic training and 5.99 lakh loans worth Rs. 5,137.6 crore had been approved. Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) Ministry of Finance - Department of Financial Services Provides collateral-free institutional credit to micro enterprises through Shishu, Kishor, Tarun and Tarun Plus categories; Tarun Plus permits eligible repeat borrowers to access up to Rs. 20 lakh. Latest update: As of 26 June 2026, 59.14 crore loans amounting to Rs. 41.71 lakh crore had been sanctioned since launch. Status: Active - Ongoing national micro-enterprise credit programme. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Industry-aligned short-term training, special projects and recognition of prior learning, including future-skill and customised job roles. Latest update: PMKVY 4.0 had trained 28.17 lakh candidates across 36 States and 738 districts as of 30 June 2026. Status: Active - Current PMKVY phase under the integrated Skill India Programme. Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM- SETU) Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship - Directorate General of Training Rs. 60,000-crore scheme to upgrade 1,000 Government ITIs through 200 hub-and-800 spoke clusters and establish five National Centres of Excellence for Skilling. Latest update: By May 2026, 32 States/UTs had constituted steering committees and 12 had issued RFPs; Andhra Pradesh operationalised the first cluster, while strategic investment plans were approved for Odisha, Gujarat and Telangana. National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) 2.0 Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Promotes apprenticeship by providing Government support of 25% of the stipend, up to Rs. 1,500 per month, directly to apprentices and strengthening the apprenticeship ecosystem. Latest update: More than 54.41 lakh apprentices had been engaged since 2016, including about 12.35 lakh during FY 2025-26. Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes - 14 Sectors DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry (nodal); respective ministries/departments implement sector schemes Manufacturing incentive framework for 14 strategic sectors to attract investment, expand production and exports, deepen value chains and generate employment. Latest update: As of 31 March 2026, actual investment exceeded Rs. 2.40 lakh crore, direct and indirect employment exceeded 14.15 lakh and cumulative exports reached Rs. 15.2 lakh crore.
